Kimberley Sterling, MEd, LPC-S

Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor

Hi! Welcome to Inner Light Counseling Services!  My name is Kimberley Sterling.  If you are looking for some assistance, I am glad you found me!  If you would like to know more, here is a little of my background information.

I have a Master's Degree in Counseling and Higher Education from the University of North Texas in Denton.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and am Certified in EMDR therapy.  I work with clients from many different backgrounds, and have experience counseling individuals from age 6 and up, as well as couples and families.

My specialty of focus is trauma counseling, but I also have an extensive history of helping with anxiety and depression, as well as relationship difficulties and adjusting to life’s challenges.   My counseling style is one of compassion and caring.  My desire is to facilitate your growth and healing, while at the same time providing a safe space for you to share your emotions.

The therapeutic techniques I use consistently include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy.  These types of therapy styles explore the meanings we attach to significant events in our lives as well as to help break the cycle of negative thought patterns that have developed over time, and to help develop much more realistic and healthy mindsets.  I also utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) if it is beneficial to a client's healing.

My purpose is not to walk ahead of you, telling you where to go, nor is it to walk behind you, picking up the pieces, but rather to walk beside you, giving you support on your healing journey and working collaboratively with you to find solutions that work for you!

You’ll find that I have a soft approach, and that I will wholeheartedly encourage you to find strength and power within yourself.  I fully believe in fostering growth and change through helping you discover your own ability to heal. I want to help you find your inner light.
